The audit of the short term insurance platform was initiated due to a breakdown in the relationship between the bank and the vendor. Despite significant investment, the Bank considered shutting down the project. The Dariel audit team focused on technical concerns, analysing the codebase and architecture. They evaluated performance, flexibility, security, and adherence to best practices. The findings revealed that the platform was fundamentally sound, built on modern JAVA principles, with only minor adjustments needed to make it fully functional. A recommendation was made to continue with the platform, allowing the Bank to capitalise on its existing investment.
Outcome: R4 million savings to the Bank
