Malcolm Rabson, Managing Director of Dariel highlights some of the main challenges with youth skills development, specifically in the ICT industry and what needs to be done for the industry to see an improvement. Additionally, he adds that the skills shortage is increasing the outsourcing of skills, which is hurting the economy. He suggests that graduates cant find jobs might be attributed to the quality of the education they receive with some fundamental “building blocks” not being taught, thus they don’t have a full complement of the generic skills needed to build a system.
